We got up at 5:30 am to get ready for the Siemens Race. Lilin was so excited being her first race she couldn't sleep the whole night. She had a small breakfast of bread and cheese and we left promptly at 6 am to Dataran Merdeka.
I was concerned about the race as Lilin will be starting the race at a later time. I took her around the starting area and we agreed to meet at a spot when we finish the race. My race started at 7 am and hers started at 7:30 am. I figured it would take me an hour to finish the 10 km and lilin would take about 40 min to finsh her 3.5 km. Both would be waiting at the same place once finished.
However, I wasn't sure if she would know what to do so I asked a parent child team if Lilin could hang around them and start the race together with them.
It took me almost 65 mins to complete the 10 km race. When I reached the finish line low and behold, Lilin was there waving at me. I was so surprise to see her finish before me. She completed her 3.5 km run in 25 mins. Kudos to her for her first run.
She is only 13, by the time she reaches 15 years old, I will probably be much slower than her. By then she will definitely be a real fast runner. "Add Oil" Lilin
